Personal data (hereinafter referred to as "data") is processed by us only to the extent necessary and for the purpose of providing a functional and user-friendly website, including its content and the services offered there. In accordance with Art. 4 No. 1 of Regulation (EU) 2016/679, i.e. the General Data Protection Regulation (hereinafter "GDPR"), "processing" means any operation or set of operations performed on personal data, whether or not by automated means.

With the following data privacy statement, we inform you in particular about the nature, scope, purpose, duration, and legal basis of the processing of personal data, insofar as we decide either alone or jointly with others on the purposes and means of processing.

II. Rights of Users and Data Subjects

With regard to the data processing described below, users and data subjects have the right:

  • To confirmation as to whether data concerning them is being processed, to information about the data being processed, to further information about the data processing and to copies of the data (cf. also Art. 15 GDPR);
  • To correction or completion of inaccurate or incomplete data (cf. also Art. 16 GDPR);
  • To immediate deletion of data concerning them (cf. also Art. 17 GDPR), or, alternatively, where further processing is required pursuant to Art. 17(3) GDPR, to restriction of processing in accordance with Art. 18 GDPR;
  • To receive the data concerning them and provided by them, and to have this data transmitted to other providers/controllers (cf. also Art. 20 GDPR);
  • To lodge a complaint with the supervisory authority if they believe that data concerning them is being processed by the provider in breach of data protection regulations (cf. also Art. 77 GDPR).

In addition, the provider is obliged to inform all recipients to whom data has been disclosed of any correction or deletion of data or restriction of processing pursuant to Arts. 16, 17(1), 18 GDPR. However, this obligation does not apply where such notification is impossible or involves disproportionate effort. Notwithstanding this, the user has a right to information about these recipients.

Users and data subjects also have the right under Art. 21 GDPR to object to the future processing of data concerning them, provided the data is processed by the provider in accordance with Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR. In particular, an objection to data processing for the purpose of direct marketing is permissible.

III. Information on Data Processing

Your data processed when using our website will be deleted or blocked as soon as the purpose of storage no longer applies, unless otherwise stated below.

Server Data

For technical reasons, in particular to ensure a secure and stable website, data is transmitted by your browser to us or to our web server provider. These server log files record, among other things, the type and version of your browser, the operating system, the website from which you accessed our site (referrer URL), the pages visited, the date and time of each access, and the IP address of the connection used. This data is temporarily stored but not combined with other data about you. The legal basis is Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR. Our legitimate interest lies in improving, stabilising, and securing our website. The data is deleted after seven days at the latest, unless further retention is required for evidentiary purposes.

Cookies

a) Session Cookies

We use cookies on our website. Cookies are small text files stored by your browser on your device. They allow us to process certain information such as browser data, location data, or your IP address. This makes our website more user-friendly, effective, and secure. The legal basis is Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR where cookies are used for contract initiation or performance; otherwise Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR applies. Session cookies are deleted when you close your browser.

b) Third-Party Cookies

We may also use cookies from partner companies for advertising, analysis, or functional purposes. Details, including the legal basis, are described in the relevant sections below.

c) How to Disable Cookies

You can prevent or restrict the installation of cookies via your browser settings and delete stored cookies at any time. Note that disabling cookies may limit the full functionality of the website.

Contact Requests / Contact Options

If you contact us via the contact form or by e-mail, the data you provide will be used to process your request. Providing this data is necessary to respond to your enquiry. The legal basis is Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR. Your data will be deleted once your enquiry has been conclusively answered and there are no legal retention obligations preventing deletion.

Data Processing by Formspree

To provide the contact form functionality, we send your e-mail address and name to Formspree Inc. upon submission. Formspree processes and stores this data and forwards it to us by e-mail. Formspree also collects additional data such as your IP address, browser type, domain, and access time to provide the form functionality. Details can be found at docs.formspree.io/files/terms.pdf . The legal basis is Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR. Data is transferred to the USA; Formspree's terms govern its handling. You can also contact us directly at artur@sotec-solutions.com.

Web Analytics – Matomo

This website uses Matomo (formerly Piwik), an open-source web analytics platform. Matomo is operated on our own server at artursopelnik.de/matomo/ , meaning no data is shared with third parties.

Matomo uses cookies to analyse how visitors use the website. The information generated by the cookie about your use of this website (including a truncated version of your IP address) is stored on our server. Your IP address is anonymised immediately after processing and before storage. The legal basis is Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR. Our legitimate interest lies in the statistical analysis of user behaviour for optimisation purposes.

You can opt out of being tracked by Matomo by enabling "Do Not Track" in your browser, or by visiting our Matomo opt-out page.

Comments – Disqus

The comment function is provided independently by Disqus (disqus.com), operated by Big Head Labs, Inc., San Francisco, USA. Disqus is an interactive commenting system that allows users to comment across all websites using Disqus with a single account. Login is possible via a Disqus account or via Facebook, Google, Twitter, Yahoo, or OpenID.
